Dissertation Outline- Your First Step In Dissertation Writing

When it comes to dissertation writing, the first thing that you need to do is to make an outline of dissertation. Why do you need to make an outline for dissertation? There are several reasons for it. First of all, it shows that you are serious about the work and have organized your work accordingly. Secondly it shows that you are have done some initial research and are familiar with the task at hand. Third, it helps you to prepare a time line for the completion of your dissertation and finally it leaves a positive impression in the mind of your advisor and he is also happily willing to help you out with your work.

The next important question that comes to mind is how to make dissertation outline sample or in other words how to come up with a good dissertation proposal outline? dissertation outlines contain certain chapters that must be included. These are as follows:

Introduction: In this you must include your problem statement along with its background. You state the nature of the problem and what are the questions that you intend to explore.

Literature Review: In this you must go on and conduct research relevant to the problem. Find out the other researches conducted previously in this area. Figure out the new developments being made and how to accommodate both previous and latest work in your study.

Research Methodology: In this dissertation chapter outline, you need to mention the methods adopted to conduct the research be it qualitative or quantitative. What are the sources of date collection? What is the Scope of research and the statistical models that are used during the process? Research methodology includes both data collection and data analysis. After collecting now you need to do the analysis i.e. Analyze the findings and come up with certain results and outcomes.

Research Findings: In the methodology section, you do the results analysis and come up with an outcome. Here you explain in detail the research findings. What is the outcome of the research? How were you able to establish a relation between two variables? State clearly the new findings of your research. At times this part is used to verify the thesis statement.

Conclusion: Finally comes the conclusion where you give in your suggestions and recommendations for future research in this particular area of your research.
